The Stitch Lounge is a place to be creative. My goal is to provide a fun and social place to sew and share. Sewing is such a useful and gratifying art, which provides an endless variety in what you can create. All you need is a little imagination some fabric, needle and thread. I have found that sewing among others is motivating and inspiring!
It's the prefect way to make a one-of-a-kind gift or something special for yourself.
At the Stitch Lounge we have lots of inspiration materials such as books, patterns and magazines. See something you like? – make it, or not feeling like you can tackle it yourself, we are here to help in any way we can. Come in, relax, sip on a cup of coffee or tea, soak up ideas and have fun!
We have also devoted part of the Lounge as a retail space for Smith & Sargent Handbags. All handbags are made by us! We sell the patterns for many of our handbags so you can make one too.
Do I need to bring my own sewing supplies such as sewing machine, scissors, pins etc? You can bring your own sewing supplies. It is certainly nice to have your own supplies and get used to using them if you are a newbie. However, we do have everything you will need in terms of scissors, rulers, pins, etc. to get you through most any project.We even have several machines that are available for your use.
How much does it cost? If you bring your own sewing machine or just want to use our equipment (scissors, iron, mat, rotary cutter) for cutting or working on a project the cost is $5 for 4 hours.
If you want to use one of our sewing machines the cost is $10. We want to keep the cost reasonable to you while providing you with the necessary items to inspire creativity and fun.
Most classes are $25 per person per class. What does this fee include? You will receive the pattern (in most cases), the use of all supplies in terms of pins, scissors, rotary cutter, iron and a sewing machine along with personal instruction and coaching through the entire project. The class fee does not include fabric, thread, interfacing, hardware or other materials you may need.
If for whatever reason you do not want to take a class or feel you're not ready for Sewcial Sewing I am happy to teach one-on-one. This will include the use of our machine and supplies.
Here’s a few other things you might find of interest! We have a children’s room! Complete with lots of toys and even an outdoor play area. Currently children are welcome to come with a parent at any of our Sewcial Sewing times.
